Tennessee and Kentucky can prohibit certain gender-transition treatments for minors, a federal court said Sept. 28 in rejecting appeals from parents and others.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said gender dysphoria is so new a diagnosis that the safety and impact of medical treatments including puberty blockers, hormone treatments and surgeries has not been proven. The court consolidated challenges to the laws in Tennessee and Kentucky in issuing its ruling.
Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission President Brent Leatherwood reacted favorably to the decision. “It is absolutely appropriate for the state to intervene so that vulnerable children are not subjected to these harmful, life-changing procedures.”

After meeting with church music leaders for multiple listening sessions, Lifeway Christian Resources announced the decision to continue operating lifewayworship.com for another year.
Brian Brown, director of Lifeway Worship said it is important for churches to understand that the resources currently on the website will not go away. “Everything we’ve created for the past 15 years will remain available to churches,” he said.
In July, Lifeway announced it would be shutting down the website that provides arrangements, charts, sheet music and other music resources for church worship. Churches were given until Aug. 31 to purchase new music and until Sept. 30 to download all their content. In response to concern from ministry leaders, however, Lifeway made the decision to postpone the shutdown.

When Jesus began His earthly ministry, He immediately turned heads. He taught with authority in a way that completely stunned and amazed the people who heard Him. No one had ever seen or heard anyone teach the way Jesus taught. He was recognized as a prophet, perhaps even the Prophet foretold by God to Moses in Deuteronomy 18:18-20.
But Jesus wasn’t accepted by everyone. Many people immediately desired to follow Him, but lacked staying power because His teachings were very difficult to understand and accept. Jesus, the true Prophet, not only declared the way to the Father, but revealed Himself as the only way.
As the Prophet whom God foretold, Jesus has the words of eternal life. How we respond to Him, whether with faith and obedience or rejection and rebellion, will reveal our standing with God.
