Age verification laws drive Pornhub out of four states
Bible Study: Being authentic disciples of Christ
Transcript
Age verification laws written to protect minors from adult content have driven pornography hotbed Pornhub and other websites out of service in at least four states.
Rather than comply with laws that carry penalties for violators, Pornhub and other websites owned by its parent company MindGeek have discontinued service in Arkansas, Mississippi, Utah and Virginia, according to several news reports. Under the new laws, users must be at least 18.
Christian ethicist Jason Thacker said the developments are evidence that Pornhub is not concerned with the welfare of minors.
Among other states, Pornhub is still accessible in Louisiana, where the nation’s first age verification law became effective in January, and in Texas and Montana, where laws take effect in September and January, 2024, respectively, according to information including tracking from the Free Speech Coalition.

Lifeway Research reports an estimated 783 million people will go to sleep hungry tonight.
From war and global pandemics to natural disasters and overall economic downturn, a number of factors have caused this number to double since 2020. They say factors like the war in Ukraine, a famine across the horn of Africa and the global refugee crisis in Sudan, Venezuela and Afghanistan are all contributing to the crisis. Send Relief is helping to push back global hunger. Visit SendRelief.org for more information.

A Bible Study based on 2 John 1 points to how believers are known by who they are and how they live. Freddy Cardoza writes, “This passage is so relevant to us because we live in a time when some have such a lackadaisical view of truth and shallow knowledge of Scripture that we could see such an error being tolerated. The danger of accommodating false doctrine or not remaining in Christ’s teaching is a constant threat in the lives of believers. If our work is not built on the truth, the impact of the Gospel will be stifled in our lives. Let’s be aware of this tendency to drift, and fight to hold onto “the faith that was delivered to the saints once for all” (Jude 3).
The Lifeway Bible Study points out how love and obedience are essential aspects of the Christian life.
